Castle Triathlon Series

Training tip

Sunday, 23rd October 2011

Elizabeth Scott is a director of the leading triathlon coaching company thetrilife.com. She has kindly shared her tip of the month:
So how was your first season in triathlon – and if you are an experienced athlete did you achieve what you wanted to this season?  With Autumn finally here now is the time review your season and learn from the experiences.  Ask yourself these questions:

  • What were YOUR goals and which ones did you achieve?
  • What went well and why?
  • Which ones didn’t you achieve?
  • What didn’t go so well and why?
  • What have you learnt that you can take into your next season?
  • What areas do you need to work on?
  • What are your strengths and weaknesses?

Answering the above questions and acting on them will keep your winter training effective and purposeful and lead to better performances next year!
But - it is also important to take a break and this is for many of us the perfect time.  Catch up with friends and family, catch up with household chores or try some new activities. Take 3-4 weeks away from your usual regime and come back refreshed and with a plan in mind for your winter training. If you need any help with planning your winter please do contact us at:

Information about training days to support next year’s programme will be available on the new website shortly.
