Age Group Categories explained
For adult competitors, age group categories relate to age on 31 December 2013.
For junior/child competitors, age group categories relate to their age on 31 December 2013.
Age group trophies for the first placed finisher, male and female will be awarded at each race. The categories will be as follows:
- Veteran: 40-49 yrs
- Super Veteran: 50-59 yrs
- Ultra Veteran: 60+ yrs
If you win in the Open Category as well as your age group then you only get one trophy and the trophy you forfeited goes to the next placed finisher in your age group.
Series Prizes
To win the the Individual Entry, Overall Series, triathletes need to compete in 3 of the 5 chosen races. In doing so there will be a 1st place winner in both male and female in all race distances (Adults and Child/Junior).
The actual place finish in the race, equals the number of points allocated (eg finish 3rd and you get 3 points).
The series winner will be calculated by adding a competitor’s three (3) best races in terms of points scored (having discarded a race or races if they have competed in four or five races). The person with the least number of points will be the winner.
In the event that competitors are tied on points there will be a count back of results. The winner will be decided by the triathlete with the most first place finishes. If still tied, it will then be the athlete with the most second place finishes etc.
