Castle Triathlon Series

Local Family Take on National Four Triathlon Race Series

jeudi, 2nd juin 2011

Local family, The Kay’s from York, have set themselves a family challenge this year to complete the Castle Triathlon Series. In its third year, the Castle Triathlon Series comprises of four exciting weekend events over the course of the summer. Each race offers a high quality, competitive and safe race set in beautiful grounds and truly spectacular surroundings. Very few races in the country offer such a stunning and motivational race setting, testament to the 4,000 taking part in 2010.

Peter Kay, who is a partner at Ware and Kay Solicitors, took part in the Castle Triathlon Series last year with his two sons, Robert (8) and James (11). Inspired by their experience, this year his wife, Sara, will join the rest of the family in racing all four triathlons.

The second Castle Triathlon Series event is taking place in the local venue, Castle Howard, on the 24th July 2011. Castle Howard is delighted to host the Castle Triathlon Series again, “The castle lends itself to a triathlon offering acres of beautiful grounds and a stunning lake setting. Families and individuals taking part in the race last year welcomed the opportunity to mix a sporting event with an enjoyable day out, and even learn a bit about history. We look forward to another exciting event this year.”

The York Triathlon Club has already signed up to hold their Club Championship at the Castle Howard Triathlon. Terry Lightfoot comments: “York triathlon club are excited to be holding their club championships at the Castle Howard event this year.  The prestigious location and separate start waves will add good competition between local club members and make for a great day out.”
