First Timers

Mountain bikes next to uber-fast tri-bikes, people in shorts and t-shirts racking next to triathletes sporting the latest advancements in Lycra.

Scan the transition area of any Castle Triathlon Series race and it’s easy to see that this is a series populated by both newcomers and experienced triathletes alike.

First Timers

Female focussed

With Non Stanford the reigning ITU World Champion, Chrissie Wellington still the Ironman record holder and age-group participation on the rise, women’s triathlon in the UK is riding a wave of success.

Few elite sports offer as much gender equality as triathlon, with Wellington famous for beating the majority of the men, and the feel good female figures continue in the grassroots race scene.

Juniors

The Castle Triathlon Series has played a major role in the buoyant growth of children’s triathlon in the UK, culminating in the Hever Castle leg hosting the world’s largest youth triathlon since 2013.

From jumping in a lake, cycling through the woods to running around a castle, we pride ourselves on offering unforgettable, accessible races for 8–15 year olds at five amazing locations in England, Ireland and France.

Elites

Rising Brit Ironman star Lucy Gossage, Mark Threlfall, Liam Lloyd, and pro triathletes Catherine Jameson and Fraser Cartmell were just a stellar quintet of names to appear at Hever Castle in 2015.

Sky TV, Channel Four, Eurosport, both mainstream and the local press, international triathlon magazines and websites… the Castle Triathlon Series is covered by a huge variety of media outlets.

Triathlon clubs

Big group discounts and waves tailored for club championships the Castle Triathlon Series provides the perfect venue for your annual tri club’s major race day meets.

Many clubs opt to enter a single event from our five race series but more and more clubs are doing the three-country Castle Triathlon Series tour.

Para Tri

With a dominant British team and the sport set to make its debut at the Paralympics at Rio 2016, the profile of paratriathlon in the UK has never been higher.

As a Series with an ethos of accessibility and offering a race for everyone, all of the courses at the Castle Triathlon Series are tailored for paratriathletes.

Schools

Welcome to the Castle Triathlon Series new school programme, ‘Tri-Knights’, the first curriculum linked triathlon resource for primary schools in the UK.

London 2012 had a significant impact on the uptake of triathlon. The Brownlee Brothers were a huge talking point for many, with children quoting their performance as they were inspired to sign up for a Castle Triathlon in the years since.

Corporates

With an upwardly mobile fraternity and wages well above the national average, triathlon has replaced golf as the number one sport of the boardroom.

With a huge number of Type A personalities and high-fliers at the peak of their business careers in the field, the races offer a platform to network and be seen, not forgetting the option of post-race bragging rights.

Charity

It’s often said that triathlon is the new marathon in the world of endurance sport and – as the nation’s fastest growing sport – triathlon certainly offers a wealth of great sponsorship and fundraising opportunities for competitors.

The competitors at the Castle Triathlon Series raised over £135,000 for charity in 2015 (and that’s just what we know about) for a wide spectrum of charities and good causes.

Spectators

The spectator experience at the Castle Triathlon Series has become almost as famous as the spectacular backdrops and classic courses, and has made passing time before your loved ones finish the race a thing of the past.

Each weekend of the series will feature live bands entertaining the crowds, children’s inflatables, climbing wall and, of course live music to continue the festival theme! The historic Castle grounds are open for exploration, with lakeside walks and nature and wildlife spotting just some of the options for spectators to partake in.

Volunteers

We offer a Volunteer Scheme, whereby a free* race is given in return for a day’s marshaling at any one of the Castle Triathlon Series events. This role can be undertaken by yourself (the competitor), a friend or family member who would like to support you.

The ‘free* place’ can be used for any race distance or could be used to reduce the Gauntlet and Bastion entry fee.

Join The Keep

We hugely appreciate the loyalty that many of you show to the Series choosing to ‘tri’ with us year-on-year.

With this mind we’ve set up The Keep, our Loyalty Club for returning competitors. We have some exciting rewards and benefits for those qualifying to join us in ‘The Keep’ starting with competitors who have taken part in twelve races since 2014.
