Castle Series celebrate the close of the 2020 season, with a first socially distanced event at Hever Castle, Kent
September 29, 2020
The Castle Series team has been working tirelessly throughout the season to create events (both virtual and physical) that are in line with ever-changing government guidelines. They’ve been working with and supported by governing bodies, venues and suppliers to ensure that their 2020 events were run in accordance with health and safety guidance. The Castle Series are delighted that their hard work paid off with so many complementary comments on the day and since the day from participants and local residents.
“It was so great to be back with the whole Castle Series community again this weekend” commented Brian Adcock. “It has been so long since we were able to host a race that even the laborious tasks like putting out 2.6km of barriers were good fun! We were so pleased that our increased safety measured were appreciated and adhered too throughout the weekend. We are grateful for the community support through the weekend and throughout this whole year, as it has meant racing together again possible.”
A race for everyone – triathletes, multisporters, runners and swimmers of all ages and all abilities The Castle Series made their name by creating world-leading triathlon events. More recently, they have expanded their event weekends to include a range of other races, including multisport distances, aquabikes and aquathons, marathons, half marathons, 10k runs, and a range of open water swims (1 mile, 2.5k and 5k) to their weekend festivals.
This meant that last weekend, Hever Castle had a huge variety of triathlons, multisporters, runners and swimmers enjoying and competing throughout the 28-acre lake and River Eden, the High Weald of Kent and the stunning Hever Estate.
The Castle Series celebrate athletes of all ages and abilities. Last weekend, athletes aged 7 years old to 76 years old, first timers to elites, a truly inclusive race experience that can be enjoyed by all.

Festival Village helps athletes and spectators celebrate sporting success The Castle Series is known for the festival atmosphere in the festival village – with live bands, inspiring speakers, fantastic shopping, and delicious food and drink stalls. Due to the health and safety restrictions, this year the festival village was smaller but just as popular. Athletes and spectators were able to spend up to an hour celebrating their sporting success and enjoying the atmosphere post-event.
