Rhian Ravenscroft is the joint founder of the female sports kit brand, Threo: a keen sports woman herself and new mum, Rhian recently visited Six Physio for a postnatal body check. Here she provides her thoughts on the experience, recommending it thoroughly for ‘peace of mind and general wellbeing’.
“I booked the appointment when I felt ready to try and begin the road back to fitness after pregnancy. I didn’t feel that my six-week checkup with the GP had been thorough enough or specific enough to give me the confidence to go back training at full tilt. As someone who was very fit beforehand I had a difficult pregnancy and was very conscious of the way in which pregnancy can take its toll on your body, your muscles and your alignment and I felt the Six Physio check would give me the peace of mind needed to know I wasn’t going to cause any damage. I wasn’t really sure what to expect from it but came away from it with so much more knowledge and confidence in how to approach post pregnancy fitness.
“The physiotherapist was incredibly calming discussing the more sensitive elements of pregnancy and birth and very thorough in the information provided and her checks. It was very reassuring to know that my post pregnancy issues were normal and she provided me with comprehensive (and easy) exercises to deal with any niggles. I can’t recommend this service enough and think it is worth doing whatever level of fitness you aspire to be at post pregnancy – for peace of mind and for general wellbeing.”
