The unique Pop-up City Triathlon returns in 2017 with a four day event

City workers take on rival bankers in large-scale static staged triathlon

The unique Pop-Up City Triathlon will take place in Montgomery Square, Canary Wharf, for four days this Spring, inviting corporate teams of three to give it a ‘tri’ and test their mettle in the staged static triathlon.

WHAT: The staged event will welcome 100 teams to take-part in a large-scale static triathlon competing for the best distance over a given time (3 min swim in an endless pool, 4 minutes on a cycle ergometer and a 3 minute run on a treadmill). The teams made up of three will compete in one discipline each and represent the same company.
Credit Suisse was the winning team in 2016 with an outstanding overall distance of 4,640 metres. You can see the leaderboard listing distances to beat here.

WHEN: Monday 24th April – Thursday 27th April 2017. Each team will be allocated a fifteen-minute slot between 12.00 and 14:30pm or 17:30 – 20:00. The top rating five teams will make the final hosted on Thursday 27th April at 18:00.

WHERE: Montgomery Square, Canary Wharf (next to Clifford Chance).

WHO: Corporate teams and triathlon clubs. 2016 participants included; KPMG, HSBC, Bank of America, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, Citi Bank, Santander, Clifford Chance to name a few.

£1,000 for the teams’ charity of choice PLUS each team member will get:

Four Runner-Up Teams
Each team member will receive:

– FREE race place at any Castle Triathlon Series event/distance

COST: All entry fee proceeds (£250 per team) will go directly to the Castle Triathlon Series Official Charity Partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.
