For the beginners to all things tri, we’ve created a nurturing environment by providing help from the moment you sign up to the unforgettable moment when you break the tape at the finish line.
We even have a race specifically for you called The Starter Tri. This is a great place to start your triathlon career. With just a 200m swim (thats 25 lengths of your average local swimming pool), literally an out and back, a quick run up the hill to your bike in your wetsuit, followed by a quick change into your bike stuff and then out onto the bike course (12km or thereabouts). There will be other cyclists out there with you and loads of marshals to show you the way. Finally, after a brief change into your running stuff (that may simply mean just taking off your bike helmet) a 2km run, barely out of sight of the Finish in front of the castle at any point and then a sprint across the line to complete hopefully your first of many races!
Our training partners, theTriLife.com, offer a host of training plans and days, from a four-month Long-distance plan for the Bastion to training days for novice athletes. The experts at the Trilife.com offer comprehensive and accessible training plans for every race distance in the series and also host training days at each of the castle venues a number of weeks before the race.
For our youth athletes, we provide a number of open-water acclimatisation sessions for anyone new to the lake swim section of the race. Each training day also offers a transition training session that’ll ensure that all participants will know their T1 from their T2 by the finale.
We’ve also partnered with the triathlon specialists Zone3 wetsuit hire, British Bike Hire and Yellow Jersey cycle Insurance and a host of other brands to offer equipment and support for your race. Having the right equipment (and insurance) will help your passage to the finish. Also on offer is the hiring of triathlon wetsuits, road bikes for adults and mountain bikes for children.
