Keeping us connected, fit and sane whilst raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support
The Castle Virtual Series are weekend race events.
Participants can choose to complete their race throughout the weekend, at times that suit you. If you are taking part in a triathlon or multisport event, you can choose to complete the different legs as individual elements or in one go.
Participants submit results throughout the weekend via their Active account which are then fed to the live leader board at regular intervals. All results must be submitted by midnight on the Sunday of the event weekend.
These weekend race events are a celebration of our community of athletes. We actively encourage participants to share photos and videos of them taking part across our social media channels, and support and motivate fellow participants across the weekend in our Facebook Event Pages.
We host a live prize giving on our Facebook Page on the Monday at 6pm which celebrates podium places and notable performances.
Whether you’re choosing one, two or all three events, trying out the variety of distances and discipline options, searching for a personal best, setting your sights on the podium, connecting with fellow Monkeys, Bears and Hares, simply keeping fit, or just wanting to be in with a chance to win the Ultimate Kit Bag, use our Castle Virtual Series to stay motivated and get prepared for live events that will surely come back this Spring, Summer and Autumn!.
We have loved seeing so many triathlon, running and athletics clubs taking part in our Castle Virtual Series. We thought it was about time we encouraged some friendly competition. May the best clubs/companies win!
For every Castle Virtual Series race we will be running a Club and Company Championships. Recruit your training or work friends to take part for a chance to win:
Win kit for your club/company : every club with 10+ participants will be entered for a chance to win a partner hamper worth £500. A club will be picked at random and annouced at the prize giving.
Macmillan Cancer Support understand that things are especially worrying at this time if you have cancer or someone you love does, so wanted to let you know how they can help. The cancer and coronavirus pages on Macmillan’s website have lots of information and practical support. If you are worried about cancer symptoms, cancer treatment, money, or need to talk to someone, visit their website or call their helpline on 0808 808 00 00. Lines are currently open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. You can also talk to other people affected by cancer (which can be a big help) through Macmillan’s Online Community at any time night or day.
We have 25 Macmillan Charity Places to give away for each Virtual event (no fee applied), all you need to do is raise £100! Contact us here to find out more.
We and your fellow participants are counting on your integrity and honesty when timing each leg and submitting your results.
Once you’ve completed a leg, take a picture or screenshot of the evidence of time and distance covered. Results submission follows a 2 STEP process:
1 – Via your Active account, upload your image evidence of the distance covered and time taken to complete your challenge. 2 – Input your timings directly on to the LEADER BOARD RESULTS platform and we’ll do the rest!
We wish you luck. Take care if you are choosing to take to the elements to complete your challenge! For those competing from the comfort of your “pain cave”/ indoors, we will only accept timings from turbo-trainers (properly calibrated to replicate road racing conditions) and static bikes. Due to the huge advantage afforded by using rollers we will not accept timings from this form of indoor trainer.
Over the weekend of Virtual racing, follow your progress as well as the efforts of fellow participants on Leader Board.
Once you’ve completed a leg, upload your image via your Active account MY EVENTSso that our team can verify. Then head to the Results leader board below, to input your timings.
Select the type of event to find your distance. Click on your name to update and view your timings. When all legs of a multi discipline have been completed on Sunday, the full times will be displayed below.
Put your name or bib number in the ‘Search’ bar to find your entry. It may take up to an hour for timings to be updated.
