Are you ready for the ultimate challenge of the triathlon season? We are really looking forward to welcoming you to the Festival of Endurance at Hever Castle on Sunday 7th July. We are set to make this weekend the extravaganza people have come to expect.

Car Parking

On approach to the venue, be sure to follow the Triathlon Car Park signs and you can’t go wrong! Do NOT rely on your satnav, it will NOT take you to the correct entrance.

Some of you may be arriving while competitors are out on the cycle course, please drive with caution and allow plenty of time to access the car parks.

 

Do you have a Blue Badge carrying disabled supporter?  Please email the office for information on a more appropriate car park.

The Festival of Endurance at Hever Castle is an exciting and busy event. Please familiarise yourself with your course and in particular any key junctions to ensure you take the correct route.

British Triathlon permitted event

British Triathlon rules are in place for all triathlon, aquabike and aquathlon participants.

If you have valid British Triathlon membership please show your card at the registration tent and no payment will be necessary.

IT IS NECESSARY FOR NON MEMBERS TO BUY A DAY MEMBERSHIP ON ARRIVAL TO THE REGISTRATION AREA

To help reduce the queues please come with the correct change.

Competitors are advised to familiarise themselves with the rules and regulations, otherwise you may be penalised for breaking any rule. Ignorance is no defence! Water Temperature

Water Temperature was 18°C as of Monday 1st July 10am.

We expect Wetsuits to remain optional. See guidelines here

 

NEED A WETSUIT?  DONT DELAY. 

If you like your hired wetsuit, you will have the option to purchase it after your race.

Bike Hire

Take away the stress of transporting your bike to the event by hiring a quality bike from British Bike Hire who are the official bike partner for Castle Triathlon Series! Simply collect your hire bike from the start and return at the finish line. More information here.

Castle Run Series

To all Marathon and Half Marathon participants; please collect your race bib (with timing chip attached) from registration. Free Bag drop is located close to the Information marquee within the Event Village. The run starts in front Hever Castle, by the draw bridge. Scroll down for starter list and timings.

Half Marathon Pacer Timings : 1.45hrs, 2.00hrs, 2.15hrs, 2.30hrs

Marathon Pacer Timings : 4.00hrs, 4.30hrs, 5.00hrs, 5.30hrs (this is slower paced course. This 4.30hrs on this course is equivalent to a 4.00hrs on a road course!)

 

 

Castle Swim Series

To all long swimmers; please collect your timing chip and swim hat from registration. Changing facilities are by registration and bag drop is located by transition on the half moon lawn, which is on the way to the loggia swim start.

A nutrition area will be available for all swimmers.

We will be waiting for you at the finish with your medal. Prizes are awarded for both wetsuit and non-wetsuit categories in all three distances.

Pre-Race Day Registration

Available for TRIATHLON AND MULTISPORT participants

Saturday 6th July from 2.30pm to 5pm

Pre-Race Day Registration will enable triathlon and mulitsport athletes  to check in at the BTF licence marquee, pick up the race pack and rack their bike. Overnight bike Transition security is provided. It is not permitted to pick up a race pack on behalf of anyone else.

A swim practice is available to all interested participants from 1.30pm and 2.30pm.  On arrival please sign in at registration and we’ll direct you to the lake thereafter.

Please note that above timings are not flexible, please allow extra time for any travel issues.

Bastion and Aquabike Pre-Race Briefing 5-6pm Saturday 6th July

We operate a split transition for some events, and will provide coloured transition bags and instruction at registration.  View the links below to review instruction before the event.

RACE DAY Registration and Start Timings

Race Day Brief will take place 10-20 minutes before each wave start

Registration open between 5.30am and 9.45am

Swim only and Run only participants need to arrive no earlier than 45 minutes beforehand.

All other participants should aim to arrive 1.30hrs before the start of your race.

Wave List and Start Times

Wave spreadsheets are now available to download.

These are listed by distance, then in alphabetical order and include your wave number, start time and names of all those taking part in the Hever Castle Festival of Endurance.

The Bastion and Gauntlet  include ‘age group’ as a reference point. Prize giving; Male/Female First Three overall, then 40+, 50+, 60+

The Run Series prize giving includes; Male/Female first three overall in both distances.

The Swim Series prize giving includes; Male/Female first three overall in both the wetsuit and not wetsuit category.

The Multisport prize giving includes; Male/Female first three overall in all distances.

 

 

Transition Area

Overnight transition bike racking facility will be available to any participants who wish to make use of it.

On Race Day a covered bag drop area in transition will be available.

BOXES AND BAGS IN TRANSITION AREA Competitors are permitted to bring a box or a bag into the transition area, HOWEVER, boxes and bags cannot be left alongside the bikes. Only race kit to be used can be left in that race area. All boxes and bags should be moved to the bag drop.  This area is only accessible to competitors but the organisers do not accept responsibility for the security or the safety of these items so please don’t leave valuables in them.

Physio

Six Physio

The Six Physio team will be set up in the red gazebo in the event village for anyone interested in a post-race massage. The post-event massage is on offer to all competitors at Hever, only £10 for 15 mins. Gauntlet & Bastion competitors at both Hever events get a Six Physio post-race massage for free! Spectators and camping

£10 for adults and £5 for children

Spectators are welcome. The discounted entry fee gives you full access to the event village and Castle gardens and Castle itself.

There will be retail outlets, food concessions, live music and children’s entertainment; climbing wall and inflatables along with the stunning grounds to enjoy. We recommend you bring cash to the event.  See the spectator guide for some great viewing tips.
