Make sure you know your Wave number!  With such a busy event, please expect some queuing to enter the Venue car parks. We urge you to check your journey time and allow plenty of time to park up and make your way to the Holding Area.

All car parks are in adjoining fields to the event. Please follow the below instructions to avoid delays.

2020 Hever Castle Gauntlet Guide

Course Maps and Race Briefs

The Hever Castle Multisport event  is an exciting and busy event with lots of different courses taking place throughout the weekend.

Due to Social Distance measures, there will not be a brief before the start of your race. You must watch both the Event brief and your specific race distance brief online prior to Race Day. This will not only familiarise you with the course, but also make you aware of any key junctions helping  you take the correct route.

Please take a moment to study these in maps details.

Water Temperature

Currently wetsuits are optional/advisable

OnSunday 20th September 2020 the water temperature was 15.5C as of 7am rising to 18C by 10am. With cooler weather coming in this weekend, we expect the water temperature to be around the 14/15C mark.

There will be no wetsuit hire at the event

The water temperature varies slightly throughout the lake (Sunday Adults Competitors: please note the river section is often around 1-2°C colder). The Hever lake is not a very deep lake and the water temperatures are easily affected by the weather and overnight conditions. On arrival at Registration you will be notified of the Race Day early morning water temperature.

Wetsuits are advisable but will be optional if the water temperatures remain 14°C or above. If the water temperature falls below 14°C, wetsuits will become mandatory.

Event Day Nutrition

On Saturday, participants must be responsible for their own race nutrition. There will be a water station on the Run course.

On Sunday, the cycle course will have fully stocked Feed Stations. Please note this will be self service, so you will have to stop to make use of it. There will be no water station in Penshurst on the cycle course unless we get extremely hot weather. The Run course will have 2 Feed stations and 3 Water stations – all self service.
