EVENT NOTICE

ATTENTION! SUNDAY 11 – 15 YEARS  PARTICIPANTS:

Dear parents, A decision has been taken by the British Triathlon head race official, due to the inclement weather conditions, to convert the planned races into a duathlon (shortened distances). We appreciate your understanding in this matter, and please ensure your children have sufficient warm, dry clothing given the conditions we are experiencing..

Wave start times remain unchanged, please still only go to registration 1hr before your start time. Full information will be given at registration.

Car Parks & Arrival at the Event

All car parks are in adjoining fields to the event. Please follow the below instructions to avoid delays.

  • If you are coming via Tunbridge Wells, please note the A264 road closures on Saturday morning.
  • On approaching the venue, be sure to follow the yellow triathlon car park signs. DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR SAT NAV.
  • Please follow directions from marshals
  • Many of you will be arriving while fellow Hever event competitors are out on the cycle course, please drive with caution.

Do you have elderly or disabled supporters?

Within each car parking field there will be a designated disabled parking area located closest to the Venue. Whilst we have taken steps to improve the tracks and pathways, they will, at times, be a little rough and we would encourage you to leave enough time getting from the car parks to the Event.

Water Temperature

We predict mandatory wetsuits first thing, going to optional/advisable late morning/afternoon

Looking at the weekend forecast, we expect triathlete wetsuits will be compulsory in the morning. Wetsuits will become optional if the water temperature rises above 14°C. The water temperature varies slightly throughout the lake (Sunday Adults Competitors: please note the river section is often around 1-2°C colder). The Hever lake is not a very deep lake and the water temperatures are easily effected by the weather. On arrival at Registration you will be notified of the Race Day early morning water temperature.

Need to hire or buy a wetsuit?  Click here to find out more.

Water Temperature: 16°C as of Wednesday 19th September, 8.30am.  Up-to-date water temperature will be posted here leading up to event day.
